FDA issued a new draft guidance on US-Origin Statements on Seafood in October 2026. This is part of the Administration’s Seafood Strategy to increase domestic seafood. Curiously this guidance seems to forget that these types of claims are already highly regulated and FDA has a CPG on Country of Origin Labeling, which has been around since October 1, 1980.
